Sandy, Utah

I lived in the same house from birth to age 19. I haven't been to my home town, or even home state, in almost seven years. I'm thinking of taking a trip.

My mom found tickets to salt lake for $84 each way. Pretty sweet.

It is a rare thing to spend your entire childhood in the same house. I did too and it was very comforting. We got a late start, but I hope that my kids can spend the rest of their childhood here, which happens to only be a mile or two from my childhood home :)

Utah is as Utah was - ever under construction, constantly changing, but still very much the same (and still a bit behind). Watch out for the "hazy" air in Winter, it's thick enough to slice!

$84 each way is very sweet. We live in the wrong town for those type of deals!

I love the picture but you stopped just short of my street - 7800 S. in Midvale by Union middle & Midvalley elementary. My cousins used to live right off of Sego Lily & we went on a walk in the gully once. Where did you live? I wasn't patient enough to figure that part out.

Go. It is necessary to visit your childhood home every once in a while to stay connected to the past enough to keep its lessons with you. Each trip to Utah has always helped me learn and I am grateful for it.

I can't relate. I still shop at the same grocery store and spent two years cheer coaching the 'diggers'...in some ways I envy you and in some ways I love being 'home'.

Take the trip. I took a trip to Rochester last year because I hadn't been back in 11 years. It was really worth the time for me.

I'm thinking when you take that trip, then so must I! That is, unless you're planning on traveling a little bit south while you're down.... when do I need to mark my calendar? Because it's a given. You're going.

I'll let you know when my HS reunion is and then we can ALL THREE BE THERE AT THE SAME TIME! That would totally rock. and if you and Lisa are in S.L./Sandy area, I will have a babysitter for Josiah during the reunion. right? right?

The map is awesome! I really enjoyed the details- being that my parents house could be added right next to Flat Iron Mesa Park. I've lived there almost my entire life- now you know why my adjustment to Philly has been a rough one!
