What and where are they?

O.K. I'm back.
This one isn't very hard to figure out but they are some cool places. Places I would like to see in person.
What are these buildings and where are they?

Aruba, Jamaica, the Bahamas? Oh wait, those are places I want to go. I am not even going to pretend like I know these. I mean, they all look vaguely familiar in that "I think I went to elementary school with that kid" sort of way. I'll have to leave it to your geographically and architecturally smart readers.

top to bottom, Country of Origin...
France
India
South America

Yeah pretty general, I hope I got at least one right? I'm almost positive that they are all located on earth, though some of their builders are not...?

Sallad,
You have done a great job identifying yourself as NOT being one of the readers Corbie was reffering to.
You do get a point for making a veiled Holy Tabernacle Ministries reffrence.

ok, so no looking through google yet.
I want to guess again.
Middle one is Tailand right? maybe Malaysia? I KNOW it is featured in the Film Baraka which I highly recommend.
The last one I vaguely recognize, the timbers sticking out of the dirt right? I'm going to Say North America on this one cause I could totally see Dalyn saying "C'mon people, this history is right here in your own backyard and you don't know about it?!"

OK, I haven't peaked at the smarter people above me's comments yet. I would guess the Taj Mahal, Machu Picchu or Chichen Itza, & ... no other clue.

Now that I've peaked, I would agree that the middle one is maybe Thailand or Cambodia - ANGKOR WAT?

brohammas said...

Tristan you are close but not quite.

Sorry Jenna, but no.

Okay...I think I've got it this time. The bottom one is Sankore Mosque in Timbuktu, Mali, West Africa.

The middle image is Angkor Wat in Angkor, Cambodia.

OK now Tristan has the bottom two...odd, I thought the top one was the easiest.

hey how come I can 't see Tristans comments?

I really am curious about that bottom location, where is it?

brohammas said...

I'm waiting for one person to get all three. Then I'll show all the comments.

The top sketch is of St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City, Rome

Italy (the Piazza) on top, London (royal palace) in the middle... and... Germany (some fort)?

?????

Ding ding ding! Tristan is the winner, proving herself the best googler I know.

I thought I recognized the top one. You would love seeing it, along with all the art jam-packed into the Vatican.

cool, I got a little frustrated not being able to find out number 3 (Sankore Mosque), sister in law has been to Angkor Wat, she said it was Jungle overgrown up until recently (maybe 60 years ago?). Can't believe I couldn't get St. Peter's Square! But can you tell me where the Vatican Obelisk is originally from?

Sallad said...

Just Looked up Angkor Wat's history and discovered that it was not completely overgrown (like my sister in law lead me to believe). Man you can't trust anybody! Only trust the internet... on another note Microsoft is giving out Spanish Doubloons to anyone who forwards this post to all their friends.
